At first there was ....noise

Everything you wanted to know about music but didn’t dare to ask.

In this project music of Mieczysław Weinberg harmonically connects with the world of humor and circus.

Created by Gidon Kremer, Kremerata Baltica and a great clown from the Circus Ronkalli Robert Wicke, "At first there was ....noise" takes the audience on a journey from the silence via noise to music.

Gidon Kremer says:

"Weinberg is very important for the development of music, a composer with the distinct voice. People need to discover him. Kremerata has already performed and recorded many of Weinberg’s substantial works. This time we are going to focus on his music written for theater, movies and circus.

We are happy to share the idea of this project with a wonderful person, a clown from the famous Circus Roncalli – Robert Wicke. We can offer you a joined venture – actually, an adventure.”

“Kremer and his companions offered musical entertainment of the loveliest kind”
