Gidon Kremer, Georgijs Osokins, Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė and Kremerata Baltica octet in Latvia

In the beginning of March together with pianist and finalist of the Chopin International piano competition Georgijs Osokins, the cellist of Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė as well as the Kremerata Baltica octet, Gidon Kremer will visit Latvia, where the group of musicians will give 2 concerts – in Rēzekne, The Embassy of Latgale GORS (March 8), and in Riga, House of the Blackheads (March 10).

In the program, works by M. Weinberg, F. Chopin, and F. Mendelssohn. In Rezekne, Gidon Kremer will additionally perform “Preludes to a lost time” –  Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s 24 Preludes for cello, which he transcribed for violin solo, supplemented by the visual part by Lithuanian photographer Antanas Sutkus.

The members of Kremerata Baltica octet will be: Džeraldas Bidva (violin), Dainius Peseckas (violin), Linas Valickas (violin), Dainius Puodžiukas (violin), Kristina Anusevičiūtė (alto), Vidas Vekerotas (alto), Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė (cello), Pēteris Čirkšis (cello).
