“Hommage a Piazzolla”

and

“At First There Was…Noise”

Before our tour in Germany, Switzerland, Latvia and Lithuania Gidon Kremer gives a little explanation of our two new programs  “Hommage a Piazzolla” and “At First There Was…Noise”. Gidon Kremer says:

“The first half of the concert would be dedicated to the music of a wonderful composer, wonderful personality that I have already discovered myself more than 25 years ago – Astor Piazzolla.

The second half of the concert will be embellished by the music of a Polish-Jewish-Russian composer, whose hundreds anniversary we are celebrating this year – Mieczysław Weinberg. Weinberg is very important for the development of music, a composer with the distinct voice. People need to discover him and that’s why I feel like starting the year 2019 with playing his music. Kremerata has already performed and recorded many of Weinberg’s substantial works. This time we are going to focus on his music written for theater, movies and circus. We are happy to share the idea of this project with a wonderful person, a clown from the famous Circus Roncalli – Robert Wicke. We can offer you a joined venture – actually, an adventure. I think both personalities, Astor Piazzolla and Mieczysław Weinberg will be happy if you share the evening with us!”
