KREMERATA BALTICA AND KSENIJA SIDOROVA GIVES CONCERTS IN LATVIA AND SWITZERLAND

Kremerata Baltica will end 2016 with two performances with Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova, joined by soloists Giedre Dirvanauskaite (violoncello) and Andrei Pushkarev (vibraphone).  The orchestra will once more come back to Latvia, where on December 4 they will give a concert in Cēsis and on December 6 will perform in Basel (Switzerland).

Orchestra’s creative artistic director Gidon Kremer has prepared a special program. Both concerts will start with 2 pieces by Franz Schubert: the 5 Minuets and 6 Trios D89 and the String Quartet No.12 (Quartet-Satz) in C minor D703. Later the program will move to a very special arrangement of Bach’s Piano Concerto in d minor BWV1052 for accordion and string orchestra and an arrangement of the Latvian composer Arturs Maskats’ piece “Midnight in Riga” for accordion, violincello, vibraphone, and string orchestra.
