Rakelė Chijenaitė
Violinist

Rakelė Chijenaitė started to play the violin at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2000-2012, and continued her studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under Professor Undinė Jagėlaitė-Lipinaitienė and Rūta Lipinaitytė-Savickienė. She also spent one year at the Leipzig Felix Mendelsohn-Bartholdy Academy of Music under Professor Mariana Sirbu.

Rakelė Chijenaitė is a laureate of National Balys Dvarionas competition (2012), 1st prize-winner of the International Alexandr Glazunov competition in Paris (2014) and of the International Young Musicians Competition in Barletta, Italy (2008) and other competitions in Lithuania and abroad.

R.Chijenaitė has attended master-classes given by Petru Munteanu, Peter Shumayer, Rainer Schmidt, Stephan Picard, Johannes Meissl, Gordan Nikolic and others, as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles.

As a soloist, R. Chijenaitė has played with the Vilnius City St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Modestas Barkauskas conducting. Rakelė is actively performing in Lithuania and abroad as a chamber musician, participating in music festivals and art projects.

Rakelė is a member of Kremerata Baltica since 2018.
