We had a great tour visiting cities in Germany, Switzerland, Latvia and Lithuania presenting two exciting programs – “Hommage a Piazzolla” and “At first there was noise”.
In the program built around music of Astor Piazzolla, one of our favorite composers we were delighted to share the stage with our incredible soloists Gidon Kremer, Ivan Karizna and Andrei Pushkarev. We were very happy to see Latvian composer Arturs Maskats during our concert in Liepāja, whose piece “Midnight in Riga” opened the concert.

Gidon Kremer and Robert Wicke
During the second half of the concert we performed our brand-new project “At first there was noise”, created with our artistic director Gidon Kremer and a great clown from the Circus Ronkalli Robert Wicke. In this project music of Mieczysław Weinberg harmonically connected with the world of humor and circus. Robert Wicke, a virtuoso juggler and a beatboxer has become part of the music and together we traveled the journey from the silence via noise to music. Andrei Pushkarev, our great percussionist and arranger, made the transcriptions of Weinberg’s movie scores for the chamber orchestra and we were delighted to share this music with our audience.
