In the middle of September the XIII Kremerata Baltica festival “Amber Music” will take place in Jūrmala (Latvia). This year chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica and its creative director Gidon Kremer has invited several splendid artists to accompany them on the stage. Kremerata Baltica will perform together with such musicians as the Korean-German violinist Clara-Jumi Kang, Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins, clarnetist Mate Bekavac, altist Pēteris Trasuns and a young raising star from Lithuania – conductor Martynas Stakionis.
This year the festival has found itself a new home – the newly renovated and recently reopened concert hall “Dzintaru koncertzāle” in Jūrmala. Festival will take place September 8-11.
A special place and time, special guests and especially special program. During the festival weekend, Kremerata Baltica together with maestro Gidon Kremer (violin) and the festival guests will give 4 concerts. You will be able to hear music by such composers as Mieczyslav Weinberg, Luigi Nono, Igor Loboda, Eugene Ysaye, Sergei Prokofiev, Georgs Pelēcis, Bernard Hermann, Giya Kancheli, Alfred Schnittke, Pēteris Vasks, Fryderyc Chopin/Evgeny Sharlat, Antonin Dvorak, Robert Schumann/Friedrich Hermann, Karlheinz Stockenhausen, George Enesku, Dmitri Shostakovich and Olli Mustonen.
